Making our congregation a priority
As we celebrated World Communion Sunday, I encourage each of us to remember these commitments. Prioritizing our local congregation is one way we participate in God's larger work in the world. When we pray, show up, give, serve, and witness, we strengthen our local church—and through it, God's church everywhere. Yes, and when the people gather, there is singing and praying, laughing and sometimes crying— all of it saying that we belong to one another in Christ. Friends, we are the church together! Let’s act like it. Let us remember our commitments and make our local congregation a priority—not simply because the church needs us, but because we need one another as we seek to live faithfully as the people of God.
